From the first days of 2019, sharp natural changes in the territory of the Russian Federation caused significant damage to domestic agriculture.
Together with emergency situations, climatic anomalies led Russian farmers to losses, the total amount of which amounted to about seven billion rubles.
Such information was shared with the public in the press service of the National Union of Agricultural Insurers of the Russian Federation. The head of the organization, Korney Bidzhov, noted that the announced figure was compiled on the basis of damage assessments that farmers provided to the government.
It will not be out of place to emphasize that significant damage this year was done to the agro-industrial complex of eighteen Russian regions. And ten of them even introduced emergency conditions.
It is noteworthy that at least four and a half billion rubles is the amount of damage that was caused by the weather to winter fields. In second place are losses from outbreaks of the disease of farm animals by foot and mouth disease in the vast Far East. This is followed by a high level of soil moisture in Siberian and Far Eastern fields due to heavy rainfall.
It should be added that the drought, which attacked immediately ten Russian regions and significantly reduced the yield of agricultural fields, has not yet been taken into account.
