Ukrainian producers have to buy green food for snails - grass perko - in Poland. The products are not cheap, but necessary: for a small herd of snails - this is the main feed, eating which the mollusks quickly reach the desired weight.
In Ukraine, they don’t grow perks, says Mykola Gavrilov, one of the founders of the Chuguevskoye farm, which holds a mollusk mini-farm.
The fact that green fodder has to be purchased in Poland is also said in the Snail of Ukraine association. The Chuguevskoye farm has already purchased seeds of this grass and began to grow fodder crops on its own.

By the way, grass perko was bred in Germany by interspecific crossbreeding of winter rape with kale. In 1977, she was introduced to Ukraine. Outwardly, the perk is similar to rape, has a very branched root system.
In addition to feed purposes, peppers are grown for oil production. Seed productivity reaches 25-30 kg / ha, green mass - 500-600 kg / ha.
According to the protein content in the seeds, peppers exceed sunflower by more than 2 times. Meal is used in feed production. The green mass of grass goes to silage and is readily eaten by all types of farm animals.
