Over the past few days, a significant cooling has been observed in the Vinnitsa region.

It was cold rainy weather, in some places even a snow cover lay in the fields. Lowering the air temperature forced the farmers to postpone the sowing campaign of corn and sunflower, said the head of the farm "Berezovsky" Anatoly Berezovsky.

“Cooling affected the delay in sunflower sowing. We did an experimental sowing of sunflower - 10% of the total area. We’ll start sowing on Friday, ”said Anatoly Berezovsky.

According to the head of the agricultural enterprise, corn was also postponed. Due to the cooling, there was a delay in the work to protect winter crops.

Earlier it was reported that as of April 1, in six regions of Ukraine, sunflower sowing began. 54 thousand hectares or 1% of the forecast were sown with culture. The sowing campaign of spring grain and leguminous crops continued, which planted 1.4 million hectares, or 61% of the forecast.

During the monitoring conducted on April 12, farmers of Odessa region reported that they continue to plant sunflower. And some agricultural enterprises in the south of Odessa announced the receipt of the first seedlings of an early sowing culture.
