In the Transcarpathian region, the harvesting campaign of early crops began. Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Volodymyr Topchy noted that the harvest of winter wheat, corn and other cereals in Ukraine in 2019 will not be lower than last year.

This year we can expect a significant increase in the volume of early crops, such as winter wheat and corn, predicts agronomist, teacher of the Mukachevo Agricultural College Andrei Chonka.

According to him, thanks to the use of herbicides to protect against weeds and appropriate fertilizing, the crop promises to be rich. Contributed to this and good weather. The same opinion is shared by the head of the department of agricultural development of the Mukachevo district state administration Ilya Yovbak.

He says that the grain yield indicators of the Mukachevo district this year are pretty good - 40 c / ha. There are farms in which productivity is even higher. Students take part in field work. They help farmers in sowing, in the care of corn, protection from weeds and pests.

For them, says Andrei Chonka, this is a good combination of theory and practice, which helps tremendously in the training and education of real specialists in the agricultural industry.
