Thanks to this decision, EU countries will be able to increase subsidies to farmers without distorting the market structure.
The minimum assistance provided by the EU member states is intended for a quick financial response, for example, in the event of various crisis situations, such as preventing or eliminating the consequences of mass animal diseases, etc.
Each EU member state has a specific minimum aid amount, which, at the same time, should not exceed 1.25% of the country's total agricultural production for a year over a three-year period.
In accordance with the decision adopted by the European Commission, a minimum amount of assistance in the amount of 15 to 20 thousand euros can be provided to a farm for three years.
This decision to increase the maximum amount of minimum assistance will enter into force on March 14, but at the same time, it can be applied retroactively to the previously paid, in accordance with the current conditions for its provision.
