In the village of Velikaya Lepetikha, which is located in the Kherson region, local residents attacked a trail of wild boar, clearly infected with the African swine fever virus. To stop the spread of the pathogen in the region, local farmers took up arms, pursuing a single goal: to exterminate all wild boars, which can easily infect domestic pigs with a dangerous disease.

“We will shoot wild boars until we completely exterminate this species of animals in our region,” Kherson farmers are determined. “Our huntsmen regularly check the grounds for the presence of wild boars that died as a result of the ASF virus.”
It is noteworthy that so far no wild pigs killed as a result of the influence of the plague have been found in the region.
