Very soon in Ukraine it will be possible to buy eco-friendly disposable tableware made from bran. Representation in Ukraine was opened by Biotrem company from Poland, engaged in its production.
The company operates on a patented technology that allows making dishes from corn and wheat bran, algae, cassava and plant-based polymers. From one ton of wheat bran, you can get 1000 disposable plates. In a set of dishes plates, forks, spoons and cups. In this dish you can heat food, so it is strong enough and solid.
After use, bran dishes are easily transformed into food for birds and animals. Within 30 days, it is completely decomposed. In agriculture, such dishes can be used as fertilizer.
According to the assurances of the developers, one kilogram of wheat bran - processing, transportation, utilization - produces about 1.3 kg of CO2, while 1 kilogram of disposable tableware made of polyethylene - 8.5 kg of CO2. Biotrem owns its own factory and makes deliveries to mass customers, among which restaurant chains and retailers, directly or through distributors.
