Beekeeper Mario Koremans from the Dutch province of Etten-Leur has been breeding bees for seven consecutive years and then leasing them to producers of greenhouse fruits and berries for pollination of crops. The bee populations grown by him belong to purebred bees, which effectively do their job.
Mario Koremans himself does not quite correspond to the stereotype of the beekeeper: he is not interested in selling honey. “There are several areas in beekeeping: honey production, sale of beekeeping products, educational and information services, as well as pollination. I focus solely on pollination. This is part of the soft fruit puzzle. And I think that it’s really wonderful! ”Says a young, but experienced beekeeper.
Mario is very responsible for breeding populations, expanding colonies, but at the same time protecting the purity of the breeds. In the greenhouses, green bee hives are installed high above the head, from which they fly out and into which the bees fly. The hives look neat, because quality is important for a young beekeeper.Bees can also do their job under LED lighting, but the LED spectrum sometimes needs to be adjusted because the bees do not see the red light.
Since childhood, Mario was interested in bees. His two grandfathers were beekeepers. When he was 11 years old, he began to care for two bee families. After completing his studies, the guy created his campaign, and now Mario Koremans has 430 bee families, which he leases to fruit producers - clients throughout the country.
