The first operating biogas station in the Center of Ukraine is located in the Subecon livestock complex in the Vinnitsa region. It produces natural organic fertilizers from pig manure.
The director of the Subecon pig farm in the village of Sutiski in the Tyvrovsky district is Andrei Chemes, a military man by training. Growing pigs became interested 8 years ago.
In 2013, a novice farmer bought 7 dilapidated pigsties, which remained from the Soviet era. He carried out a complete reconstruction of the buildings, where he developed a modern livestock farm for growing meat breeds of pigs called "Subekon" (Sutsky bacon).
Andrey Chemes introduces innovations at his farm. The fact that there is a pig farm nearby cannot be determined by smell. There are also no draft pits and piles of manure. All animal waste is processed by a biogas plant, fermenting them at a temperature of 37 ° C, which kills pathogens.
The resulting fertilizer enriches the soil with acids that form humus and restore fertility. After fertilizing, vegetables grow on such land very well.
And the enterprise has a double benefit from the biogas station, since in addition to fertilizers it receives gas, which is used by pigsties to heat in the cold season, the farmer said.
