Rosselkhoznadzor employees are seriously concerned about the quality of imported shrimp, which is supplied to Russia by the Asian company Castlerock Fisheries.Castlerock Fisheries is an Indian company known worldwide as a major supplier of seafood to foreign markets.

“We sounded the alarm when our employees found in another batch of Indian shrimp bacteria of E. coli,” the Rosselkhoznadzor noted. “A regime of increased control of these products was immediately announced, we conducted a number of studies in the laboratories of the department.”

Shrimps were evaluated on several points, drew attention to the packaging, external characteristics, smell, the presence of ice glaze, germs and bacteria. As a result, bacteriological abnormalities in the form of the presence of an intestinal pathogen virus were detected, and now Castlerock Fisheries products are in quarantine.

Research results have already been sent to the Indian shrimp producer in order to draw suppliers' attention to product quality. New deliveries from Castlerock Fisheries to Russia are still banned.
