When growing cucumbers, for various reasons and factors, vegetable growers are faced with crop diseases. Chemical preparations for treatment can be used only at a certain stage of plant development, therefore, many prefer biological agents, such as Fitosporin M.
Description of the drug
Fungicide is a biological product designed to prevent and treat plants from a list of ailments. The active component of the systemic agent is soil culture aggressive to pathogenic spores of fungi and bacteria. When preparing a working solution, culture spores are activated and produce oligopeptides that destroy harmful microorganisms.
Did you know? During the experiments, breeders from the UAE bred a variety of cucumbers with square fruits.
In addition to biological spores, humic acids are present in the composition. The instructions for the drug indicate with which top dressing it is compatible: the list includes stimulants, insecticides and chemical type fungicides, except for alkaline products.

What is Fitosporin used for?
As applied to cucumbers, Fitosporin M effectively fights against such diseases and problems:
- anthracnose;
- yellow leaves;
- olive leaf spot;
- powdery mildew;
- rot of fruits;
- root, stem and leaf rot;
- peronosporosis (downy mildew).
- The benefits of the application are as follows:
- efficiency 95%;
- low toxicity, which allows the use of the entire season;
- in addition to treatment, the drug nourishes and protects against possible infection;
- protects against insect attacks;
- protects from pathogenic microorganisms not only the ground part, but also the roots;
- restores the microflora of the soil after the use of aggressive chemicals;
- is also a growth promoter.
The rate and frequency of processing
Outdoor consumption 10 l / m²; in the greenhouse 10 l / 3 m². The interval between the processing of cucumbers is slightly different depending on the place of cultivation:
- in the greenhouse multiplicity every 7-14 days;
- in the open ground every 5-7 days.
Important! If the rainy season has begun, spraying is carried out immediately after precipitation. Otherwise, water washes it off and eliminates the protective effect.
How to properly process the cucumbers "Fitosporin"
Before using the product, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the drug's instructions in order to know how many times and in what proportions the drug is used for watering and spraying at different periods of the growing season.
General processing rules:
- A powder solution is prepared several hours before work.
- The paste concentrate should stand for about a day to activate its active substances. The concentrate is prepared by diluting with water in a ratio of 1: 2.
- The water should be warm, not hot and not cold.
- For prophylaxis against diseases, soil or plant is watered under the root, with a disease, they are mainly sprayed on a leaf.
- The greenhouse (inside frame and soil) is treated twice a season: in the spring 7 days before planting and after harvesting. Here it is desirable to use a powder of 5 g / 10 l.
- On open beds, land cultivation is carried out after snowmelt. It is recommended to use a paste concentrate of 6 ml / 10 l.
Important! To prepare a high-quality solution, the water must be natural: rainwater or from a stream, but not from the main.
Seeds
To process the seeds before sowing, they are soaked in the prepared aqueous solution for 2 hours, the proportions for each form of Fitosporin differ:
- when using powder - 1.5 g / 100 ml;
- when applying paste - 2 drops / 100 ml;
- ready-made solution (liquid form) - 10 drops / 200 ml.
Seedlings
For the prevention of root diseases, seedlings are soaked for 1-2 hours in an aqueous solution in the following proportions:
- powder - 10 g / 5 l;
- paste (concentrate) —4 drops / 200 ml;
- liquid — 10 drops / 200 ml.
Did you know? The first greenhouses owed their appearance to the Roman emperor Tiberius, who loved cucumbers so much that he demanded their year-round cultivation.
During flowering and fruiting
For the treatment or prevention of flowering or fruiting bushes, they are sprayed with an aqueous solution in the following proportions:
- powder - 10 g / 5 l (open bed), 7 g / 10 l (greenhouse);
- paste (concentrate) - 4 drops / 200 ml of water;
- liquid - 20 drops / 500 ml.
When can I eat cucumbers after processing
Many will be interested in the question: is it possible to spray the fruits before harvesting. "Fitosporin" is dangerous to humans only in case of direct contact with the drug. Cucumbers processed during fruiting are absolutely safe, do not cause any harm to the human body. Fruits can be eaten the day after spraying.
Storage conditions for the drug
The paste and powder are kept warm and dry, the recommended temperature is -2 ... + 30 ° С. For a finished liquid solution or concentrate from a paste, a temperature of + 15 ... + 20 ° C is recommended. It is better to store drugs without access to daylight, isolate funds from children and animals. It is undesirable to place "Fitosporin" next to animal feed, medicines and food products.
Work safety measures
Despite its biological origin, the fungicide can cause poisoning and burns when ingested, on the mucous membrane of the eyes or skin.
Therefore, before watering cucumber plantings, precautions should be taken:
- To work with the solution, it is advisable to take special clothes that are not worn in everyday life.
- Prepare rubber gloves for hand protection, a respirator and goggles.
- During work, do not smoke, drink or eat.
- To prepare a fungicide solution, utensils are used, which are subsequently stored separately from cutlery.
- After the procedure, you need to take a shower.
