Farmers in the village of Novosofievka, in the Kherson region, are engaged in the cultivation of radishes and carrots.
Until recently, they sold their products only in the Kopani wholesale market, and low-quality goods remained on the fields as fertilizer. Thanks to the Ukrainian Horticulture Business Development Project (UHBDP), farms joined together and were able to enter other markets.
Three small groups of agricultural producers joined the same association last November. Now they can constantly form large batches of goods, which opens up access to new markets. Eighteen farming families decided to work together.
They understand that only together they can compete in the domestic market of the country. Now all 18 farms cultivate radishes and carrots of the same variety. Vegetable growers have also developed the most effective growing technologies and adhere to them.
Farmer families carry out all the work at the same time. Planting, processing plant protection products, fertilizing crops and harvesting they all get together, which allows you to form large batches of vegetables throughout the season.
For information, the UHBDP Ukrainian horticulture business development project is almost 40 thousand small and medium-sized producers of fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, honey, who strive for a sustainable, promising business, it is a platform for business cooperation with new customers and partners.
