This year, the leading specialists of the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute, which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture of the country, managed to achieve tremendous success in one of the selection experiments.

Thus, it is known that experienced vegetable growers of Azerbaijan have created unique varieties of potatoes. We are talking about cultures with increased productivity and endurance, which are called human names.

In particular, the three most high-yielding and persistent varieties were called Telman, Sevinch, and Emiri-600. This information was shared by employees of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.

The department also hastened to emphasize that today, active work is being carried out in their country to launch a new seed fund. The breeders' priority is to reduce the country's dependence on potato imports.

It should be noted that experimental sowing of new varieties of potatoes is carried out this season at the experimental agricultural expanses of the Sarytala station, which is located in the Tovuz region of the country. There are experimental fields at the Shamkir stronghold of the research institute.

At the same time, work does not stop on the cultivation of new varieties that are obtained by cloning and crossing the seed stock of highly productive types of potatoes.
