Description
This is a vivid representative of the Borovikov clan. There are many color options for his hat: from light to dark brown with a red tint. The shape of the hat depends on the "age" of a particular fetus: in a small one it is spherical, and then it becomes pillow-shaped. Its diameter is on average 25 cm, and the surface is smooth, slightly velvety.
The pulp of this part of the boletus has a white color, which does not change when cut, and also differs in density. At the same time, it has practically no smell, but has a nutty taste. The leg is massive: its height can reach 20 cm, and its thickness is 5 cm. It has the shape of a cylinder and a white or light brown hue.
Important! This species has two of the most common «doubles»: gall and satanic mushrooms.
Places of growth
Ceps grow on all continents, with the exception of Australia and Antarctica. The most favorable places for them are coniferous or coniferous-deciduous forests, as well as soils covered with moss and lichen. Ideal conditions for boletus - warm and moderately humid weather with foggy nights.
