Next to the Syrian border in Turkey, this month another SunFarming training project on food and energy has been launched. The goal of this food and energy project in Ottomania is to educate people with a future perspective.
On 2 hectares. In the solar park, additional solar networks and barriers will be installed under the solar tables, which allow keeping free range chickens.
Trainings and jobs in the field of solar technology, electric mobility and the production of organic eggs will be created for Syrian refugees. The training program consists of practical and theoretical lessons.
A theoretical lesson takes place in a specially built training center. Directly connected with this complex is a store, which is also served by trainees.
Here, agricultural products produced in accordance with EU standards are sold directly and provide practical and theoretical knowledge of the business.
This project became possible as a major PPP project (private partnership) with the support of BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development), managed by Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena) - German Energy Agency.
“Education and jobs are being created, food supplies and sustainable energy production contribute to a responsible, safe lifestyle and give people here prospects for the future for a later return to their homeland,” explains Peter Schrum, founder and main shareholder of SUNfarming.
