The territories of the Republic of Udmurtia, where rapeseed is sown, only grow every year. And this year, the total area of yellow rapeseed fields currently exceeds ten thousand hectares. And this is almost forty percent more than a year earlier.
Such information was shared by Olga Abramova, who heads the Republican Ministry of Agriculture. The head of the department also added that, in addition to rapeseed fields, the region grows in area and territory, which is sown with perennial grasses, annual fodder plants and fruit and vegetable crops.
For clarity, it is worth noting that in 2018, lands with perennial grasses were forty-two percent less than today. And annual crops currently exceed the 2018 figure by eighteen percent. As for vegetables, seven percent more territories were laid for them this year than last year.
However, there are also such crops, the area of crops of which since last year in the Udmurt open spaces has significantly decreased. In this case, we are talking about fields with potatoes, corn, flax and legumes.
It will not be superfluous to note that last spring the head of the Udmurt Ministry of Agriculture emphasized: in the current year, sowing of rapeseed should be a priority for local farmers.
And the territory of the fields with this crop should in no way be less than thirteen thousand hectares. In 2018, the area of rapeseed fields was eleven thousand hectares.
