Ukraine needs subsidies for growing peas. This will help to maintain soil fertility and protect farmers from losses that reduce their cultivation areas.
Since 2017, agricultural producers reduce pea crops. This year it amounted to just over 500 thousand tons.
Now there is a negative trend, which, first of all, is associated with a low price for this culture. Pea is the most important in crop rotation. But at present, many farmers do not take this basic principle into account.
Peas contain a large amount of protein, which allows it to compete with beef.
And then despite the fact that its observance brings agrarians 10% more profit without additional financial investments, says Nikolai Malienko, director of SOOO Pobeda.
For high-quality crop rotation, legumes should be 1/4. If their percentage is less, then you need to think about how to change this situation.
According to Nikolai Malienko, legumes allow the accumulation of biological nitrogen. And this means reducing the load of chemicals on the soil, which opens the way for humanity to organic farming and providing quality products. Not only legumes, but also cereals.
