Ukraine now has the right to export poultry to the Japanese market. This became possible after both parties signed veterinary certificates, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reports.
This is one of the markets that the country has focused on opening. Over the past two years, 21 new markets have been opened for Ukrainian poultry products, of which 14 for poultry and 7 for eggs, which is rapidly increasing export volumes.
The current plan aims to open 24 markets between 2019-2020. According to the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, in the first half of 2019, Ukraine exported 211,200 tons of poultry meat, which is 38.4% more than in the same period last year.
In 2019, domestic producers opened new markets for poultry, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as countries in the Middle East, including Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
